Haircuts Get Even Hotter at Bonne Vie

Hot cutting is the greatest breakthrough in the haircut since the invention of shears.  By cutting with heated scissors, the ends are sealed.  Not only does this protect the hair from splitting, it seals in natural moisture.  Hot cut hair is silkier, shinier and has more volume.

Hot cutting mimics the hair’s natural, uncut tip, as when it emerged from the scalp.  Once hair has been cut, the “open” ends are vulnerable to environmental stresses. “By fusing hair with heat, we are recreating the hair’s original tip, ” adds Emil.

Hot cutting stimulates the hair’s natural rejuvenation, resulting in healthy, deeply nurtured hair.  The benefits of hot cutting only increase with each hot cut, as no single haircut reaches all of a person’s hair.

Just how hot is hot cutting?  Shears are typically heated to temperatures ranging from 230° to 340°, though the temperature is custom set to each customer’s hair thickness.  There is no need to worry about burns as the handles and all but the blade teeth are well insulated.

Hot cutting can be done on all types of hair, including permed and dyed hair.  The temperature, however, is set lower to hair that may be more sensitive (such as dyed hair) to heat.

Thermocut results are so dramatic that most customers who have experienced a hot cut never return to cold shears.  Ann, a Bonne Vie regular, had her first hot cut last year.  “Not only am I converted, most of my friends could see the difference and are now hot cut enthusiasts too.”
